Transportation
Venice City Center is made up by several small island connected together by more than 400 bridges. For this reason cars are not allowed to travel around the city. While planning your journey from the Airport or the mainland to your hotel, consider that if you reach Venice by bus or car taxi you will arrive to Piazzale Roma, and then you will have to reach your hotel by foot or using public waterbuses. If you decide to reach Venice from the Airport by water, you will have different stops, and you can choose the one closer to your hotel, or, if you take the watertaxi, most of the hotels in the city have direct access to water.
Once you are in Venice be VERY careful in using the water taxi, it can be extremely expensive (say 60,00 € even for few minutes), in any case, if you need or you like to take it is better to ask the cost before getting in and then is up to you!
